From Old Bridge Township, meet New Jersey State Rep Caitlin, Be Strong’s November 2018 Student of the Month!
Caitlin - November 2018 Student of the Month

“We live by the saying, “do the right thing.” Whether that thing be as small as smiling at someone in the hallway or inviting the new kid to sit at your lunch table, you never know how it could impact their life tremendously.”  –  Caitlin

Caitlin is the rockstar  founder of  We Dine Together at Old Bridge High School and is always looking to make someone’s day better. You can find her searching the halls at school, looking for somebody who may need a friend, someone to talk to, or just someone to eat with. Caitlin has the strength to approach anyone and the kindness to win them over.

New Knights breakfast to welcome incoming transfer students

On the first day of school, Caitlin & the club invited all new transfer students to a welcoming party, the New Knights Breakfast.

“Caitlin, our chapter’s founder, has gone above and beyond to promote social inclusion, in and out of the classroom and school,” said Old Bridge High School’s WDT Advisor and Peer Leadership Coordinator, Jamie Brown.

It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.

In addition to making sure no student has to eat alone, Caitlin and the rest of her crew are collaborating with the Old Bridge Play Unify program to create inclusion commercials to be aired on the school’s news show, Knightly Wrap-Up, to promote social inclusion and acceptance. Other initiatives in-action include collecting school supplies for students in need and collecting toys for children this the holiday season.
