“If you can’t find a kind person, be one for someone else.”

Lainey, a junior from Lincoln-Way East, is a rockstar representative for Be Strong. She was the first Be Strong Student State Representative in Illinois to start a We Dine Together initiative on her school’s campus.

Lainey was determined to make sure no student at her school ever felt alone or like they didn’t belong.  Immediately after joining Be Strong, she reached out to her peers and created a We Dine Together group built on kindness and acceptance, and because of this, her cafeteria and school are thriving.  Due to her enthusiasm, warmth and accepting heart,  Lainey’s We Dine Together crew has positively impacted many students, growing to over seventy members in just under one year!

Lainey is dedicated to spreading kindness on and off campus, challenging her fellow members to participate in different acts of kindness and bonding activities each month. She truly loves to connect people, finding and using common interests to forge unlikely friendships. She uses her creative mindset, along with her purpose driven heart, to bring a multitude of people together.

Lainey’s teachers have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for her efforts to unite her. “We are so proud of Lainey.  She has impacted Lincoln-Way East in a beautiful way,” said school counselor and We Dine Together sponsor, Mrs. Babcock. “She is warm, kind and accepting of everyone at our school.”

Lainey is an amazing change agent and we are beyond grateful to have her as part of the Be Strong family!
