State Representative Mallory R.

Student Profile Image

“We choose to Be Strong because we want to make the world a better place. We want people to feel like they are appreciated in the world. We choose to Be Strong by making sure everyone feels included, even if they isolate themselves.”

– Mallory

Why Mallory was Nominated:

Mallory is a peppy girl who shares her enthusiasm for school with all around her. She is well liked and respected for who she is and doesn’t try to be something else to fit in. In my class, there is a student that is quite immature and really stands out as a target of bullying. Mallory sits near this student and patiently works with him, at a much slower pace than she could do on her own, in order to help him feel successful. When the class does group activities, she will always include him if it is a student selected grouping. I think Mallory’s compassion comes from having a sibling with special needs. She, I’m sure, has seen how cruel others can be. She’s a great role model!

State Representative Paiton W.

“We choose to Be Strong because we want to make the world a better place. We want people to feel like they are appreciated in the world. We choose to Be Strong by making sure everyone feels included, even if they isolate themselves.”

– Paiton

Why Paiton was Nominated:

Paiton is well liked for who she is and doesn’t try to be something else to fit in. She is a great student who struggles with the content of school due to her learning disability, but she doesn’t let that keep her from trying and helping everyone else along the way. In my class, there is a student that is quite immature and really stands out as a target of bullying. Peyton always checks in with this boy to see how his day is going. She often will choose him as a partner when we do group so he feels included. I think Paiton’s compassion comes from having a disability herself. She, I’m sure, has felt how cruel others can be. She’s a great role model!
