Aynor, S.C. (WPDE) — An Aynor High School student had lunch with Congressman Tom Rice today as part of a “We Dine Together” event.
Mallory Brown is part of the “Be Strong” Organization that encourages students to get to know one another.
“When you get involved with this, you can make a conversation and learn what’s under the surface and learn more about the people that are, what they’re going through in their lives,” said Brown.
Brown says she remembers feeling left out in middle school and decided she wanted to make a change in high school.
She doesn’t want anyone to feel alone or make regrettable decisions.
Congressman Tom Rice says he stands behind Brown and supports the same goals.
“In the end, my friend, it all comes down to relationships. And I think if more people worked on that, this world would be a much better place,” said Rice.
