FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., October 29, 2015 — Stand Strong USA (SSUSA), a non-profit aiming to Save Lives + End Bullying announced today a set of online tools that form the SSUSA Digital Bridge, a collection of digital resources that connects people of all ages with one touch resources. These resources include a lifeline, a crisis text line, a trusted friends alert, and an information portal that provides access to social resources as well as a growing team of volunteers prepared to spread the message of help and understanding to young people in need.
“Young people today face a set of challenges in life unique to their generation,” said SSUSA Founder and President Roy Moore. “The SSUSA Digital Bridge is designed to bridge the gap between students who are challenged and the clubs and service providers who can help.”
Acclaimed inspirational speaker Nick Vujicic stated, “I’m so excited about the new updated version of the Stand Strong USA App. Get your phone out and download or update it because it’s better than ever before. We want you to know that no matter what challenges you have, you’re not alone and we are there for you and someone cares. We want you to never give up, to dream big, and Stand Strong with us with these valuable one touch resources.”
The 2015 SSUSA events are a series of live, empowering speeches by Nick Vujicic for 6th – college age students focusing on dealing with bullying and the distinct challenges of being a teenager today. The events will be live-streamed for FREE on November 3rd through November 6th to schools throughout Florida and beyond.
Students will be able to tune in and interactively participate with the live webcasts through the SSUSA smartphone app now available in the Apple iOS App Store and the Google Play store. Parents are also invited to engage with the webcasts. After the events, the “SSUSA” smartphone app and website will continue to provide local support and resources for schools, students, parents, teachers, administrators and social service providers.
The 2013 CDC Teen Risk Behavior Surveillance report indicates that 19.6% of 9th through 12th grade students in the United States were bullied on school property and 8% had attempted suicide one or more times in the past 12 months.
