This year, for Bullying Prevention Month, local Be Strong partner, Squeeze, initiated a matched giving fundraiser by pledging to match donations, up to $25,000. Now, through the end of October, your donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000!
This year has presented many unique challenges, from the Coronavirus pandemic and social injustices to the extreme negative effects made undeniable by both.
Amid these challenges, new champions have risen.
Be Strong’s Student Representatives are young leaders from small towns, big cities and everywhere in between. They play key leadership roles in helping to forge change, and at a time when social isolation, anxiety, depression, mental health and economic challenges are creating unimaginable circumstances for students, parents and educators alike.
The Student Rep program has seen immense growth in 2020, from 400 to over 2,370 student leaders! These inspiring youth dedicate themselves, their time and energy to reshaping the social climate of their school campuses, homes and communities through intentional acts and further developing social-emotional skills like resilience.
Every one-time donation of $34 equals the recruiting, training and mobilizing of one Be Strong student leader to impact 500 of their peers every school year. Once the $25,000 match fund is unlocked, Be Strong can train and equip an additional 1,400+ student leaders, with an impact reach of 700,000!
