State Representative Jesula J.

“I am a leader. I refuse to let what others say about me to define me…

-Jesula

Why Jesula was Nominated:

I would like to nominate a phenomenal student – JJ- a 12th grader atAtlantic High School in Delray Beach, FL. Jesula is the face of anti-bullying and overcoming obstacles in our district- for students, staff, and administration. Many leaders have invited her to speak- including, various public officials, the mayor, the Palm Beach County Schools superintendent, AVID directors, radio and TV broadcasters, and many more. She has been a keynote speaker for the Career Teachers Symposium, performed at colleges and she isan intern for the city attorney, where she represents the teens in our community. In total, she has spoken for tens of thousands of people. She has traveled to Washington DC with ADL. Jesula is the FAAOP president, junior and senior class president and AVID president. Her accomplishments over the past three years are too numerous to list. I have attached links to some of her videos, anti-bullying PSA, as well as the formal recommendation letter. Overall, Jesula is the ideal candidate torepresent Be Strong.

Her work ethic and tenacity to become the best at whatever she does is infectious. The thing I love most about Grace is that she is a total FAMILY GIRL. She loves, honors and respects her family and extended family more than anything and is always spending time with them over anything else. I believe Grace would be a great asset to the State Representative program as she continues be involved with our community, showing strength, encouragement and purpose in her daily life.
