State Representative Grace C.

Grace - New Jersey Student Rep Profile Image“My goal is to be not only that person who can change someone’s day, but hopefully their life.”

-Grace

Why Grace C. was Nominated:

Unfortunately, not all of our students have somewhere to eat or someone to eat with. Grace Carey is one of the kindest students I have ever met. She would be the ideal person to lead this We Dine Together at our school.

State Representative Caitlin F.

Student Profile Image

“We live by the saying, “do the right thing.” Whether that thing be as small as smiling at someone in the hallway or inviting the new kid to sit at your lunch table, you never know how it could impact their life tremendously.”

-Caitlin

Why Caitlin was Nominated:

Caitlin is an exemplary student who is extremely motivated to help students find a place and outlet to feel safe, wanted and loved. Having the pleasure of working with Caitlin through Student Senate last year, it is obvious she has a caring heart and a profound respect amongst her peers. When it comes to ambition and drive, you can trust Caitlin to be inclusive of all, fully contribute and give 100% of her time and effort. Simply, Caitlin is a role model for our school and community. By exhibiting such efforts, Caitlin was 1 of 60 senior female students selected into our Peer Leadership Program out of a class of 800. I am beyond confident that Caitlin will represent We Dine Together’s chapter with the utmost respect and care, while turning it into one of the most successful clubs we hope to be able to offer to our student body at Old Bridge High School.

State Representative Lauren C.

“You never truly know what kind of struggles people are facing in their day to day lives and it is crucial that people learn to suspend their judgements before they jump to conclusions.”

-Lauren

Why Lauren C. was Nominated:

Ms. Craft is a resilient, compassionate and mature young woman. I have known Lauren personally and professionally for over 7 years – as a family friend and through her work as a volunteer at community park clean-ups I coordinated for Burlington County. As a young girl, I was so impressed by Lauren’s energy and work ethic, tirelessly removing trash from parks to make play areas welcoming for her friends and neighbors. Over the years, I have seen her sense of community grow through other volunteer opportunities, extracurricular activities, and interactions with her extended family. As Moorestown High School’s first undergraduate Captain of the Girl’s Volleyball Team, she has exhibited leadership, determination and loyalty to her teammates and fellow competitors. Lauren is seeking to extend her compassion, friendship and lessons of resiliency and positivity to the student body at Moorestown High School by establishing a ‘We Dine Together’ Club. Ms. Craft has taken the initiative to prepare a petition to establish/host this club, and has received positive results from both students and administrators. I hope you look upon this nomination favorably as I believe Lauren would be a tremendous addition to the Be Strong/We Dine Together family.

State Representative Shannon D.

Student Profile Image

“I use my strength and confidence to include others and to make them feel confident as well.”

-Shannon

Why Shannon D. was Nominated:

Shannon has continuously proved an excellent student leader. She is attentive, respectful and eager to learn everything she can. She has an immense amount of empathy and shows it in her daily interactions. I once watched her walking down the hallway, with no one else watching, and saw a student eating alone. She invited the student to eat lunch with her, not realizing the student spoke primarily Spanish. Shannon brought the student to the room, opened Google Translate and started a conversation with the student. I watched in awe as Shannon corralled a group of students to engage in conversation with this student who otherwise would have eaten lunch alone, in silence.
