Your State Representatives

State Representative Evelyn P.

Evelyn Student Profile Image“I’m strong because I choose to listen and I choose to care.”

-Evelyn

Why Evelyn was Nominated:

Evelyn is one of the hardest working students that I have ever met. She also values fair treatment and collaboration with others. As a member of Student Council Leadership, she has risen as a positive influence on our program and our school as a whole. She is continuously generating ideas to include and honor our diverse population. Her temperament is calm, yet compassionate.

State Representative Dorothie Grace G.

Evelyn Student Profile Image“It’s okay if you look different. It’s okay if you act different. It’s okay if your interests lie in a different place. The main thing is that if you be kind and love one another, you as a community and you as a school, you as a friend group; us as a nation can Be Strong together.”

-Dorothie Grace

Why Dorothie Grace was Nominated:

Grace is a kind and compassionate student who leads by example in all areas. As a teacher at Vilonia High School, I feel that our school (and district) really struggles with promoting an inclusive environment. I think that this student led movement would be so helpful in creating that culture in our district and community. I would like to sponsor this in my school, and I think Grace would be a perfect fit to lead the group.

– Skyler

Why Skylar was Nominated:

I am nominating Skyler to be the leader of our We Dine Together Club for the next school year (2019-2020). State Representative London H.

“I choose to Be Strong in my community by staying involved. I’ve been there. I remember what it feels like to be alone and unhappy. I’m fortunate that I don’t feel like that anymore. I’d like to share my story with other people around me. .”

– London

Why London was Nominated:

London runs a platform called, CLAP for Confidence. She’s was a precious victim of bullying- and it was through finding confidence in herself- that she was able to overcome bullying. She has since started her own platform. She has started a club in her school, to help promote confidence strategies- and helps to give others the tools she has learned to help overcom bullying. She shares her story- and message- multiple times a week. She does weekly visits to local elementary school classrooms and Girl Scout troops- and is always looking for more ways she can be a voice to her peers. She also participates in a “You Can Sit With Us” program where she has pledged to be a leader and look for those who may be left out, or lonely during the lunch hour. I think London would absolutely flourish as a state representative for Arkansas- and would love for you to chat with her and see for yourself. Her story is powerful- and her message is changing lives.
